One of the areas premier networking and learning luncheons.  Join us along with over 130 others as we bring you all the latest information, networking opportunities and learn about relevant information important to our community. 

This month we are focusing on new construction in the Nixa Area.  New construction is one of our communities biggest economic factors.  Find out from local builders what is   fueling our local new construction market.

Nixa Arts Council was formed to help bring a culture of art to our Community.  The monthly main meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at the Chamber Office.

Speaker: Justyn Pippins 
A long-time member of Minorities in Business, Justyn is a passionate leader in the field of Diversity and Inclusion. He recently coordinated a large-scale conference on D&I and brought in Stedman Graham as a keynote presenter. He manages Big Momma's Coffee and Espresso Bar and is the Events Manager for the Q Enoteca Wine Bar. Justyn also serves as a mentor for SCORE Southwest Missouri.

May 22    Sucker Days PAWS 4 A CAUSE DOG SHOW

Join us for our first ever FUN dog show that benefits 4 the Love of K9's which is a a small, dog rescue organization based in Springfield, Missouri. All dogs in our rescue are placed in a foster home until adoption.  This dog show helps benefit this program. 

Category 1 at 9am: Waggiest Tail-We will be looking for the dog who has the waggiest tail, behaviour and their walk as they are lead around by their owners in front of the Judges.  There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Category 2 at 10am: Most Stylish Duo-This is for the dog and the owner.  We are looking for whatever you want to dress them up as and how you match or contrast or whatever.  You could look alike or be two characters, just use your imagination.

May 22    2021 Sucker Days Little Miss Main Street Pageant


 
The Main Event Center presents the second annual "natural pageant" at this year's 63rd Annual Sucker Day Music, Arts, and Craft festival. The success of 2019's event has made us so excited this year in our pursuit to find young ladies who represent Nixa Sucker Day's commitment to character excellence, community, and service. The pageant will be on May 22nd, at the Main Event Center. There is a $50.00 non-reundable fee for each contestant. Please make sure to plan this to be an all day event as we will be determing pageang times based on number of entries. There are two mandatory practices to choose from to attend either May 11th and May 18th at 5PM at Main Event Center.
 
Contestants are not required to be residents of Nixa.
 
Pageant Rules
  • This is a natural pageant. Appropriate dress and make-up are a must. Appropriateness will be determined by pageant staff for each contestant.
  • Contestants must have a positive attitude, a drive to help others, be concerned about her community, uphold the values of her school and be willing to strive to reach her personal and academic goals.
  • Each contestant will perform in an opening dance number, on stage presentation and formal wear presentation.
  • Each school age contestant (K-8th grade) will need to provide a character letter from past or present teachers by the time of the practices.
  • Each contestant must provide a photo of themselves along with entry.
  • Due to lack of appropriate dressing room availability, no boys will be allowed to enter the contest.
  • Entries must be received no later than May 7, 2020. (Late entries will not be guaranteed an opening number T-shirt).  Adult size T-Shirts are available at the time of purchase.
  • Due to unknown number of entries and the number of spectators, final event times will be determined on when each age category will have their contest.  PLEASE PLAN TO BE FREE ALL DAY! 0-4 ages may have a morning time slot of 9a-10a again determined upon the total number of entries in the categories.  We will update by May 14th.
  • All safety guidelines reguarding Covid-19 will be based on current city ordinances and CDC recommendations.  We will post updates closer to the event. 
 
Tentative Event Timeline
  • May 11th or May 18th-Mandatory Rehearsal at Main Event Center 5pm-6pm
Saturday May 22nd (subject to change)
  • Possible 9a-10am Contest for Ages 0-4
  • 10:30am-All contestants meet upstairs at the Main Event Center with Appropriate Streetwear and Provided T-Shirt (allow time for parking and walking to the event)
  • 12:00pm-Participate in the Sucker Day Ceremonies under the Main Big Tent on Main Street. (Contestants will perform the routine).
  • 12:30pm- The 1pm Contestants head back to the Main Event Center.  Other contestants will not be allowed to watch due to limited space so we can make room for family members to attend.
  • 3:30pm-Remaining Contestants report to the Main Event Center for the 4:00pm Show.

Proceeds benefit the Nixa Downtown Revitalization Group and the Nixa Sucker Day Scholarship funds hosted by the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce

This is a meeting for Christian County social service nonprofit executives.  It is intended to provide an opportunity for organizations to share resources, information and referrals.  Bring business cards, brochures, referral forms, etc to share.  Bring your own lunch.
